The directors of the Palmdale Water District this week approved a contract with Capitol Dynamics of Sacramento for up to $72,000 at $6,000 per month for a year with a six month trial period.
From the Antelope Valley Press:
“It’s an attempt to help us as we move through water deals and different grant opportunities,” said district Assistant General Manager Curtis Paxton, who described Capitol Dynamics as a “governmental affairs consulting firm, a fancy (term) for a lobbyist.”
“KP Public Affairs was another firm we looked at,” Paxton said. Though he declined to disclose KP’s fee, Paxton said the amount Capitol Dynamics quoted is “definitely under the going rate.”
