They do when the Barcelona in question is Barcellona Brands of Folsom. According to an article from Bob Shallit in today’s Bee, employees at the local ad agency now work four ten hour days per week with Fridays off.
The article says that the goal of the program is to “lessen our (environmental) impact” by eliminating the office commute one day a week and reducing office energy costs by closing every Friday.”
Companies looking to reduce their environmental footprint must wrestle with balancing their green goals with providing quality services to clients, which Barcellona’s namesake founder says she will be able to do by being the one employee available every Friday for clients.
